| A
local farmer, kindly lets us use his farm for most of the year. During
spring the paddocks are used for lambing for about six weeks, (September-October),
so we cannot use the course then.
The course
was developed to provide opportunities for elevated shots and for practice
in wind, two elements lacking in some of our other courses.
The terrain
is medium to steep hill country, with very few trees. Between the ridges
lie swampy gullies, although these are easy to pick your way through, if
necessary.
Holes 1,
2, 16 and 18 are all situated on the lower level of the property.
Holes 3 and
17 climb to a second level. Tee for 18 is at this level.
Hole 4 climbs
to a third level. Holes 5 and 8 are also at this level.
Hole 6 climbs
to the fifth and highest level. Hole 7, 15 and the tees for 8 and 16 are
also at the highest elevation on the course.
Hole 9 climbs
to the fourth level. Holes 10, 11, 12 13 and 14 are also at a similar level
of elevation.
The course
is physically demanding, especially if you are not fit and used to walking
along steep hillsides.
A round of
golf will take between 90 and 120 minutes to complete.
Access is
from Racecourse Rd. Vehicles can be driven in from the road, which is only
a five minute walk from the tee. See maps below and Location.
All gates
must be left as they are found.
You are welcome
to pick and eat the pairs and apples when in season. |
